Most important changes or developments in communication technology

                No doubt that there is a huge and massive revolution in communication technology. There are a lot of different inventions through the latest years in the field of communication technology.

            Communication technology helps us in many aspects of our life. It has a lot of benefits for humanity. It made our life easier. Because of communication technology we can call each other from a  long distance in any part of the world. We can also see each other through the internet by using social networks or video calls using mobile phones.

            There are many changes and developments in communication technology. One of these changes is satellites which transmit TV channels through space. These satellites made great changes in communication. They receive signals from transmitting stations on land and again, they send these signals to other places all over the world. TV channels now can send news reports about some events live at the same time it happens. Images became clear because of satellites. Satellites helped in increasing the number of TV channels; the increase in the number of channels is useful for us to increase our knowledge and to see what happens around the world. Now, there are a lot of specialized channels such as agriculture, medicine, finance and sport. These channels give a lot of information and advice in many aspects in our life. These channels give us information about weather which benefits us before going out of our homes. The specialist channels made a huge and massive progress and development.

            Because of the satellites of communication we can know and see the events as they are happening time all over the world. They transmit live events. The channels show different points of view. These points of view make us understand what is happening around us. We know about habits and traditions of other countries with the help of TV channels. There are also satellites for forecasting weather to avoid dangers of changes in weather, earthquakes and volcanoes.

            Navigation satellites are sent into space to send out radio signals which help ships and aircraft to work out where they are. Radar from satellites is also used for remote sensing. Arab sat and Nile sat are Arabic satellites. They provide education, culture, news, sport and children’s entertainment. Satellites can be manned or unmanned. Some satellites are manned by astronauts who do repair work and scientific experiments in space. Unmanned satellites have many uses in communications and navigation. I can say that our life, with the help of communication satellites, became better and easier.

            The other change or development which I will write about is the development in mobiles. In the past mobiles were normal. They were used for calls only. There are changes and developments in mobiles. They can now transmit calls with images of people who are talking with each other. These images became clear. Some mobiles could send messages to other people. We can store a lot of applications. We can put different programs with different uses on mobiles. We can know times of prayers from mobiles. We can also read the Quran on mobiles and we can play many games on mobiles.

            There are some programs which make our use of mobiles easy. There is something called Bluetooth on mobiles which can transmit information and pictures from one mobile to another, but only for a short distance. But now this information and these pictures can be sent long distances by high technology. Today, we can send pictures of events all over the world from place to place live.

            Mobiles can show us videos. Also, they are used as radio and give us news about anything; there are calculators in mobiles to do calculations. Now, we can hear the videos and calls even if we do not put mobiles on our ears with the help of a new application called Bluetooth; we can store secret information in mobiles with an application which cannot allow others to know it. Nowadays, there are a lot of mobiles that do not have buttons to be used but a new technology called touch so we can do anything using this technology. There are new mobiles called smart phones which have the most modern technology. They can give us maps through connecting to satellites. They can give us directions in any place all over the world.

            At the end, I can see that there are a lot of changes and developments in communication technology. This technology made our life better and easier. I advise not only others but also myself to use these devices correctly. We should make use of their advantages and we should not use them badly. We thank all scientists who invent and develop these technologies.

Portfolio Task 6 

         Nowadays, a lot of people like to travel and spend their holidays in most popular countries for that they need to change their currencies, but it will be easier if we have a global currency and others disagree with this idea. In this essay I will write the advantage and disadvantage about Global currency.

         Firstly, let us start with the advantage. When traveling to other countries, money exchange wouldn’t be a problem so that we can buy staff without having any problem. Another advantage is that you can buy from the internet without being hustled. Another advantage will be that people will not have to travel and leave their families to work for foreign countries and that will end up to have a lot of job opportunities.

        Although there are some advantages, there are also some disadvantages. The first disadvantage is that the big countries will fight for the name and for the place of the main office. For example, strong countries will say that they want the global currency to be the better and poor countries will want it to be their currency so it will end up with a war. Another disadvantage is that the entire world will be equal in living level and rich countries will be equal with poor countries. If all people are rich then there will be no inventions and the compares will be broke.

All in all, my advice is that we have to make global currency because this makes all countries in one side and all of them in same level of economy.

Visitors in Australia by overseas resident

The line graph and table are showing the number of visitors to Australia by overseas resident from 1975 to 2005. In this essay I am going to describe the specific information.

First of all, the overall trend is that Australia becomes one of the most popular countries because the number of the visitors is increasing. In 1975 the visitors to Australia by overseas resident around 10 million because it was a new idea for people. Next, after 10 years the number of visitors increased sharply by 5 million. After that, the huge increased happened from 1985 to 1995 which was approximately 10 million. A further increase happened in 2005 when the number of visitors reached about 30 million.

Secondly, on the other hand we have a table which shows you the number of visitors from different countries. The highest increase was for Japan which was close to 9 million because Japan is very close to Australia. While the lowest increased was for USA which was around 1 million because most American people do not have passport and it’s very far from Australia.

All in all, the two figures are connected together because both of them show us the percentage of Australia visitors.

Portfolio task3

Balanced diet

          The healthy life is a life which everyone over the world dreams to live. People think that  a balanced diet or eating balanced meals is the key to healthy life. In this essay I am going to tell you if I agree or disagree with this point.

            First of all, there are major things which make our life healthy. The first thing us that we have to do a lot of exercises to build a strong and healthy body for example football, boxing and swimming. The second thing is that we have to keep thinking and especially for people who are over 40 years old because it will help their mind to be at the same level as when they were younger. The last thing is that people should live in a place which has a nice environment such as natural gas, nice weather and it has a lot of clean rivers or seas.

            Although there are major things which make our life healthy, there are major things which destroy our life. The first thing is smoking which kills a lot of people over the world. Then the second thing is  if people live in a place which has a high percentage of pollution they will keep breathing toxic gases. Finally the last thing which will destroy our life slowly is if we eat unbalanced meals, for example if we eat more than our body needs or less than our body needs.

            All in all, in my opinion I agree with people who think a balanced diet and eating balanced food is key for a healthy life because it helps you to get a balanced body.

Portfolio task 4

Cooperation & Competition

            We have a lot of problems when we want to improve our children to become useful adults. There are many ways we can help these children such as their family, their friends and school. In this essay I am going to compare these two skills and give my opinion.

           

            Fist of all, there are major advantages of making competition between children. The first advantage is that all children will work hard to get high marks because everyone of them wants to win the competitions. The second advantage is that everyone can do his work individually without depending on others. The last advantage is that children will not depend on their teachers when they become adults because they learned how to work alone when they were children.

            Although there are major advantages of competition there are major advantages of cooperation. The first advantages is that when we make a group we have to mix the children; for example in one group we have to select one good child and one lazy child to improve one lazy child to become one of the best children because a good child will help him by giving him new information or sharing the ideas with him. The second advantage is that when we make cooperating between children we will get competing between groups at the same time. The last advantage of cooperating is that nobody will fail because the other children or his group can help him.

            All in all, in my opinion, after I compared the advantages of both skills, I found that encouraging cooperation between children is more helpful and a nicer way to improve our children.  (280)

Portfolio task 2

            Two bar charts are shown. The first bar chart shows the main reasons for study among students of different age groups. The second bar chart explains the amount of support they received from employers in the UK. In this report I am going to summarise the important information.

            First of all, according to the first bar chart, it shows the age groups from under 26 to over 44 and they show two elements from all of them which are career and interest. The people who are under 26 got 80% for career which is the highest point. The second highest point was for career between 26 – 29 years old which got 70%. Then, the highest point for interest was for people above 49, which got 70%. The most interesting age was between 40 - 49 because their studies for career and for interest were equivalent which reached 40%.

            Secondly, regarding the second bar chart, it shows the help different age groups got for time off and help with fees. The highest point was for people who were under 26 which got 65%. The second highest point was for people who were between 26 – 29 which reached  50%. Finally the lowest point was for people who were between 30 – 39 which got  33%

All in all, the overall trend is that both charts show people who are under 26 study most for career reasons and they also get most help from employers. (244)

portfolio task 1

            Nowadays restaurants are the most famous businesses  around the world. You can find them everywhere. In this report I am going to summarise the sales at a small restaurant in the center of an American business district from 7^th  October to 13^th October.

            First of all, the day on which restaurant income decreased dramatically was on Saturday; for example it decreased from $2500 to $1950 for the lunch and from $4350 to $2900 for the dinner. Secondly the day on which the restaurant had a huge increase in their income was on Friday; like lunch increased from $2375 to $2500 and for the dinner it increased from $3800 to $4350 because it is the end of the week for all the members in the business companies. Finally we can notice that at the weekend  all business companies are closed on Sunday and so the restaurant was closed too.

            All in all, the overall trend is that the restaurant in a downtown American 
 depends on the people are who working for business companies.(173)
